Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon
Appellation: Napa Valley, formerly under contract with Chateau Montelena
Winemaker: Rachel Stellareese Davies and Geoff Davies
Winemaking Techniques: 2008 was a tumultuous growing season that ultimately resulted in a stunningly, good crop for us. The yields were substantially lower than average but the quality of fruit was superb. Smaller berries led to a more concentrated wine. The tannins are firm yet balanced and the wine is big and fruity. Deep, dark and luscious, the 2008 is a bigger more concentrated version of the 2007 vintage.
Cases Produced: 200
Tasting Notes: Sweet earthiness, good acidity and some unique floral notes like violets, lavender and rose pedals. Ripe red cherry, rich dark chocolate and a hint of sweet leather taper off into a long, velvety finish.
