Varietals: Chardonnay Dijon clone 76
Appellation: Napa Valley Mt. Veeder
Winemaker: Lars Björkman and Molly Hil
Winemaking Techniques: No malolactic, 1/4th new French oak for 11 months
Cases Produced: 214
Tasting Notes: Aromas of fig and melon give way to floral hints and the
scent of caramelized apples. The palate is light at first, building into rounder peach and
quince flavors and finishing with hints of hazelnut, wet stone, and crushed rock. In the
nose and mouth, there is the suggestion of a light toast character. The wine is lush
through the mid-palate, leading into a sleek finish. Like the great Chardonnays of the
world, this wine is made to develop over the next 10 years, growing into flavors of honey
and grilled almonds.
