2008 PRAXIS

Monterey County
/

Varietals:  Pinot Noir

Appellation:  Monterey County

Winemaker:  Bill Arbios, formerly of Chateau Souverain

Winemaking Techniques:  These grapes come from a vineyard near the Central Coast of California – a Monterey appellation – because we can’t make a Pinot Noir in this price range from Sonoma County grapes. Bill likes clone 23 for its color and bing-cherry notes accentuated by the cool climate in this area.

Cases Produced:  2,500

Tasting Notes:  “Medium ruby red color.  The nose is Old World influenced offering scents of earth, mineral, dried herbs.  The palate opens with a fruit explosion that soon evolves to tart cherries, earth, and a touch of oak.”
